Lucas Moura

  • €35.00

Lucas left home at 13-years-old to pursue his dream of playing professional football. At the training centre he was surrounded by gangs, crime, drugs and violence. However, the deeply religious winger concentrated on improving his talents to play for his boyhood club, Sao Paulo FC. What he achieved has been through hard graft and determination. Even though it was not an easy decision to leave Brazil, Moura could not refuse the temptation to pursue his dream of playing in the Champions League so he signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
After winning the French title for a 5th time Lucas moved to Spurs. He brought new flair to a young and hungry squad. With his frightening pace and clever runs he became a decisive part of Pochettino’s plans. His biggest moment came in the semi-final of the Champions League against Ajax where he instilled a belief into a Spurs side that were almost dead and buried. Moura was the inspiration, producing three clinical finishes, the third and decisive goal coming in stoppage time when he picked the ball up from Dele Alli's flick and shot across Onana.
It was one of those rare occasions for every single member of the Spurs travelling party when it must have felt like the blood in their veins had been converted into the finest of red wine. Lucas carried Spurs to their biggest game in history and, with hindsight, he should’ve started in the final. The artwork highlights Lucas celebrating his first Premier League goal against city rival Fulham. He managed to escape all the demons throughout his career and finally settled in North London.
