Frank Lampard

  • €35.00

Frank Lampard had football running through his veins as soon as he was born. His father was a decorated footballer for West Ham and his uncle Harry was a well-known manager. It is only natural that little Frank picked up a football from a very young age. After learning his trade with West Ham under the guidance of uncle Harry he moved to Chelsea in 2001.

For what he may have lacked in natural ability, he matured as a player through sheer determination and indefatigable dedication, working tirelessly to improve any attributes. It was fitting that he would ultimately be the player that secured the club’s first league title since 1955, ending a 50-year wait.

The artwork highlights his celebration against Bolton in 2005 where he shrugged off his first opponent with impressive strength, before cutting onto his right foot, drilling the ball low into the bottom left corner, prompting raucous celebrations in front of the enamoured away supporters. Following that season, Super Frankie managed to score a minimum of 20 goals for 5 seasons running. He was the most dedicated, prolific and painstakingly professional midfielder of his generation. He won every honour that the domestic English game could offer and was team captain on Chelsea’s greatest night when he lifted the European Cup in Munich.
